Interesting trip this weekend for one of my workmates. Hooked a decent stripey inside Mayor around a big school of makeral. Trolling two livebait macks - lost at boat when trace wore through. Wouldnt have picked it for mid July. Not a guy to tell bs and some fairly compelling photos.

FREELANCE 2  landed  a pending  nz  junior   and  small fry  record, for the  tauranga sports fishing club, a  blue fin tuna  of 42 kg on 24 kg line  angler Mack walling , skipper  Steve walling 

 of  waihau  bay i think Big smileTongue  macks about 7 and man hes good on a rod and can catch fish

or it mit be just the small fry record as no other small fry  has landed a southern blue fin in new zealand waters

we went out the back of white  about 2 weeks ago 3 days  got a blue fin 46 kg i think , lure lumo  sprocket was doing it , we did see a half eaten big squid  floating a whitish one so maybe that why they have been taking big lumos a fair bit
