Will be in Vietnam in little more than a couple of weeks so perhaps might get a chance to give it a go but gotta admit would far rather catch one of those tasty looking tropical crays !

yep bamboo pole and a meter of nylon to a float then about 500 mm of trace to the small hook.
Mainly fresh water and those fish are on the large side.
