I have been taking a sick friend out every week for some perch spinning at Hamilton Lake - we both have licenses.
Today we saw a few Chinese guys bait fishing with bread and we had a chat, even giving them a couple of perch but I saw they had several perch, catfish and 1 good sized tench in their bucket.

Got me a bit concerned at anglers taking every fish they catch. Even a fairly prolific fishery like Hamilton Lake could soon be emptied if this becomes the norm??
The guidelines not to eat the fish are obviously being ignored.
I doubt they had a licence

Please pass this on to F and G if they have sportsfish in their procession and F and G catch them they will prosecute them if they do not have a licence.
Fishing with more than one rod is a give away they do not know the rules.

There were about 6 rods for 3 of them.
I'll give F&G a call.
You have to do the right thing, whatever your nationality.

My understanding is there is no limit for keeping perch or rudd, then a limit of 5 tench (looked up recently).  Don't know why anybody would entertain eating the latter two.  However, only allowed to fish with one rod at any time (can have more than one rod with you).  Catfish and Goldfish (once back in the wild goldfish grow and look like a rudd but with brown fins and not reddish fins) should be kept and killed.
