Thinking about a trip down to long bay in a couple of weeks, haven't fished this time of year down there before, being a soft bait fisher what's the go at this time of year? fish the shallows around the coast 5-10m deep, or head out wider into the firth and look for workups?

Any help much appreciated as always!

Des who now runs the camp knows his stuff and regularly catches good fish out from there. He's your absolute best source of Intel.

There's a reef in side of Paul's Island that's worth a crack, there's also another reef back over toward whiskey point that holds some reasonable fish from time to time.

Then drifting up and down the hautapu channel on and off the reef is worth a crack.
