Some might be interested to keep an eye on this. 4 teams have largely self funded their way to Spain to represent NZ in the under 19 and 23 World Champs in both men's and ladies.

Early days in the tournament but all teams doing a great job of representing NZ.

And a ton on Facebook.

Apparently there have been a few issues with the streaming (which is a pay to view service. :-( ) but apparently more equipment should be arriving tomorrow to improve things.

Medal tally for the Kiwis:

Men's under 19 - Gold
Women's under 19 - Silver
Men's under 23 - Bronze
Women's under 23 - 5th

Outstanding effort with the Kiwis excelling amongst some very high quality competition.

By comparison the only Aussie team to get a medal was their men's under 23 with a silver.

Cheers Dagwood.  Is your son in one of the teams?

I have been following the results via Forrests posts on Facebook (I played UW Hockey with his dad and Forrest also plays UW Rugby).

An outstanding outcome for NZ.

Yes we've been supporting our son "Bucket" in the U23 men's team. They were gutted when they lost the opportunity to get the gold but bounced back well for a tough game to claim the bronze.

Great tournament and all the NZ teams did an outstanding job of representing the country both in and out of the pool.

That time again. 4 NZ teams who have scrimped, saved and trained their butts off are heading to Hobart.

The good news is this time the plan is to stream the games at no charge on YouTube. (Donations are welcomed :-))
