I love the 50 on my livebait set-up.
Sure it's big but as others have mentioned, your not fishing it in your hands for long. When you are fishing it, it is very comfortable and sturdy. The handle is awesome.
I like the fact that it is a strong, powerful reel but not one you have to be precious about. Too much bling on the rocks is a disaster waiting to happen to a fisherman like myself. I'm happy for the dings and scatches on my gear - it gives it character. I know the internals are up to the job and that's the important thing.
Another point worth noting is that whatever reel you're using will start having issues if you fish it with max or close to max drag regularly. You are better to have something that is more than capable of handling the drag you want to fish - with plenty more in the tank so to speak.
