Yeah better safe than sorry, not nice in 5.5 if it gets ****ty.
Coming back in the south channel was a perfect exampl as all the big boys screamed passed us as we wallowed in their wakes getting bashed about
Iโ€™m looking at Monday for my next chance possibly out of the kaipara with a left turn down the coast. Could be looking for a crewman if anyone interested.

Three marlin coming into Te Toro tonight .
Weighed one earlier that went under 90 .
Most fish seem to be less than 80 mtrs South of the bar ,
Saw a free jumper at 60 while snapper fishing on Waitangi day .
A mate saw one at 35 while he was heading out last Saturday .
I AM THE BEAST ! !

Went for first outing yesterday pm. Big run of saury behind the bar in 30m rounded up by Kahawai. Found tuna rounding up bait balls in 60m off Piha. Heaps of big skipjack and a couple of small Albies. Good to be out. Water temp getting to 24.

I caught my very first stripped marlin yesterday on a bonze "Here for the party" lure with Tide skirt combo on light gauged hooks. The fish was about 100-110kg. Release it after a 2 hour fight and swam away strong.
Saw heaps of activity with schools of skipjack and saury through the course of the day.
It was my first time ever on the west coast and it delivered.

What an excellent result.
Good to see the fish was strong after a long fight like that.
That will satisfy the soul.

Well done Sezza. Two hours is a long fight time. I suspect the arms were getting tired. Next time give the driver a good whipping and tell him that 30 minutes is enough please.
