Hi there, Have heard of some people recently getting large numbers of snapper in Tauranga harbour, during day and night, only started over the past couple of weeks, I have been out half a dozen times over the past couple of weeks and have come home with nothing.
Is there any suitable snapper spots? whats the correct tides and winds to go out on? is it better to be up closer to Omokoroa or closer to the ports? whats depths?
Any Information and hints would be greatly appreciated.

hi kiern,try in the upper reachs of harbour round omok,motuhora is,pahoia in the shallows(1-4 meter).Anchor on side of channels and up on the flats using a strayline setup,burley helps.Daytime works( also try deeper holes),but found dusk/night more productive,in&out both work(tides),last 3 of outgoing can be very good esp at night.
Tip:off side of pahoia channel(2-3m),outgoing,full moon.
ps-also look under tga fishing on these forums in the DB export reports,lots of info their aswell,good luck.

In my opinion,before going anywhere for fishing we need to make detailed research about that area,most important at time the fishes show off over the water....

hey new to this site...enquiring about rock  fishing the base of the mt?...any good spots and does it produce...im veering casting out into the entrance/channel...big water big fish?any reccomendations
