Changed it up today after last Tuesdays results. Went to 60m off Papanui point after launching at daybreak. Took about 30mins for the fish to start coming on board. By 8.30am we almost had our limit with fish to 10lb. Went in close to try and target gurnard to no avail. The couta were out in force and we got a few Kahawai not like Tuesday. Plenty of boats going back over the bar early presumably also binned up. Beauty day on the water

Went out Saturday and headed south to Gannet Rock.  No Kings to be found so snapper fished just North West of the rock in 63m.  Binned up on snapper with biggest being 18.5lb and 6 or so over 10lb.  Also a doz Gurnard. Baracouta's a bit of a pain but not too bad.

Straight out yesterday due W to 50m - slow and steady good size snapper and a couple of gurnard. Came straight back in to 40m about half way between high and low tide and picked up some nice ones including a 10lb PB for the young daughter who was stoked. Plenty of Kahawai at 40m not so much at 50m.

Hard fishing today - rough as was forecast but hoped it was wo9rth the effort. Tried 35m then after a kawhia moved to 40 under gannets. Jigged more kawhia and couttas. Decided to anchor there but the winds over 10 knots started to drag. Picked up more kawhia and a couple of average snapper who forgot it was no bite day for snapper. Found some floating seaweed with Kingiโ€™s under but just rats so after one left them to it.

Best part of day was beer on the couch watching ruggers.

Guess we got a couple of feeds and the dog got a couple of weeks and part of the garden about 3 months feed.

Should re-name this thread as Raglan & Kawhia
Was out yesterday on the Dove - lumpy and slow. We all ended up with 10 each, though.
My first fish was very close to 20 lb - biggest on the boat but lots of nice fish coming on board.
Only 2 were sick - apparently, on Thursday 11 out of 13 were sick so skipper and deckie did all the fishing!
Best bit of the day was surfing in over the bar - a bit scary but really exhilarating. Asked skipper Lawrence to turn round and do it again!

Muzzfishing gets amongst it!! Nice fillet pile right there. The snap will get a hammering this weekend looking at the weather forecast - Iโ€™m stuck with Xmas functions so have to just wait for the fishing reports

Went out today. Manu Bay boatramp was real busy but got out after waiting patiently in the queue. Went out to 52 off Carter's and straight into the fish. Binned up by about 9:00. Decided to go to the 21 for a jig. It was slow going but we managed a few rats and a couple of keepers.
Back by about 2:00.
Great day out on the West Coast.
What a great country we live in.

1st time taking my boat out to Raglan on Saturday what an epic day it was. We joined the que at Manu Bay at 06.30am then straight out to the 50m . We managed to fish the last hr of the bite time which went off then it slowed down and got the odd one that came through.
Back at the ramp by 12.30pm with a nice haul 27 snaps with a stunning 13.5lb
Definitely be back Thumbs Up Thank you Raglan for turning on the weather

Crank that smoker up and lets get cooking
