Mozz I have absolutely no problem getting my tubes to run right.  The Bea Sting at 330mm is a great lure and is highly rated by Tony Orton who has fished it a lot in Mexico.  The Siren is 260mm and again I have no issues getting that lure running well either, usually off my short rigger.  The difference I believe is the way that I weight them and that little guy will be weighted the same way as the other tubes I make.  I will give it some extensive testing before offering it up, once I'm happy with it I'll be more than happy to hook you up with a few.

I find smaller tubes easier to run than larger ones: the smaller face plows through slop better.  If you're molding your own you can try different weights till you find what best suits where you're running the lure, but if the lure isn't too hard cut the weight of the leader, assuming you're running something fairly substantial, will often be enough.  Too much weight, if you can't increase the height you're pulling the lure to compensate, can pull these smaller faced tubes below the water and turn a straight runner into a smoker.

Pinas bay pacific blue marlin, medium tube head, pearl white with blue swirl, cheap ass bass pro skirt.

Coupe of 4 ounce "Time Bomb" bullets....

And I've been playing around with some urethane too, these are my second set, the first set had a few surface issues but these ones came out a lot better.  It certainly is tricky stuff to get right as its very sensitive to ambient temperature & humidity etc.

Had to cancel the trip up north for now Andrew as something else has come up that's more important, (more important than fishing I hear you say).

Drop in any time you're in Whakatane for a chat and check out the offerings.

That's a shame Murph, there is nothing more important than fishing!! Will catch up some time soon.
