Another great day out with Dekay.

First three drops netted us three puka. Nice one Dekay.

So, whose fish is it anyway....

Q  - If your mate takes inspiration from your fist two drops, borrows a rig and due to a tangle you help him wind it in - really - whose fish is it?

Got the smoker out this morning - yum!

Thanks for the cray samies. Finnie wants to gps co-ord's....

Another great day of Wellington fishing - best in the world - love it!

About a 1km off the back of Mana - 150-160m mark....  First three drops hooked up and then a pretty slow day after that... DeKay is the girlie for the marks!

Hey Wavecrusher and Dekay -  did you get the Puka today or Saturday.

On Saturday there were only three of us at the 180m mark wide of Mana (appart from the 50+ jetskis doing an interisland return race) which was a pleasant change from the 10 - 15 boats of the previous weekend .  We picked up 2 nice Pukka early on....followed by a few OK Terries south of Mana on way home. Got the pukka on some fresh snake bait.

Edit: Noticed a high sided Stabi tiller steer about 4.4 m with 3 POB come in from well out wide (fishermans/78 meter?) after the bite had gone off.  Looked good, musta had a 50 or so HP engine as it sounded the business.  It was great to see the guys taking advantage of reasonable Welly weather to get into it.

We were out saturday, we were near the start point for the jetski race. Probably closer in than you in a white 4.9 Reflex Legacy (Chainti) with a 60 merc 4 stroke. Started fishing at around 9:30am, puka on each of the first three drops then nothing for then next 6 or 7 drifts. Tried south end mana, little try at verns. No tarakihi. Plenty of fish, puka 5 ways. Nice little bump not on the chart.

Tuesday: Northerly 10 knots. Long fine spells.
I'll be out tuesday, not sure if for bluenose or for puka. Got to love gardening leave.

All red cod "fish for tomorrow"

Water temp was 14 in closer and 13.3 out wider! We did not bother trying for snapper with all that cold weather.

Don't worry about the temp. There are still heaps of snapper around. Got 8 saturday and a pile of gurnard, a mate got seventeen. Another mate got a 11.94kg on wednesday.

Ta DeKay - we were later than you out wide.  We did the inner Mana first for a bunch of KY and the odd snake in the workups and shallows, then sth Mana for Terries then out wide for the slack at around12:30.  The Jetskis had gone before we got to mana and saw them on the retun about 2:00? out wide.

Good work Yellafin on the Snaps - at what depth were you getting them?

Ritchie - pressed the fire extinguisher into service as a Puker basher on Saturday - have given Andrew a call to see about getting my own piscatorial attitude changing device.

Cheers

Alan

Wish I could go fishing on a Tuesday Dekay. Good luck with the snaps and don't forget to save some small children and a yacht.
