We were fishing just along from you, got plagued by Spineys as well, 0 edible fish.

Unless Tope is edible? My old man got a decent one, probably 4ft long, made some long strong runs that had us hoping it was a roaming Kingfish.

I'm expecting to see a few reports tonight with the amount of boats that have gone past work on their way to seaview today, it's like they are rubbing in the fact I have to work!

Went to Fisherman's Rock today, apart from having to dodge 2 fishing trawlers with their nets out, got a feed of cod and released a grand pa scarpy with the rest of his family, temp was 14.5 degrees, sea was calmer near/at FM then at Mana island, visiting seal had no kingy this time (like last time at 78metre)

We knocked over 3 kings out west. 12-15kg. Water was warm, went in for a snapper fish but current never got going after slack. Good few hours out.

Thought I would share this with you fellas here as it's an impressive catch. My mate (he goes by the name of Jason) got this nice snapper off his kayak yesterday morning.

Took a sneaky day off and went exploring off the south coast. Found a nice wee reef in the lee of the rather honking nor-easter, about 16m... Good haul of fat Blue Cod and a random Tarakihi. Released a bunch of large Kahawai, loads of Barracouta, a Conger and, to keep things interesting, a 60cm Kingi.

Beat working for sure.

Water temp 14.8 degrees.

Beware, the thieves are still in action. Just read on facebook a diver had their car broken into at Tarakena yesterday. Someone also said a couple weeks ago two 'suspicious' looking cars were parked up watching him so he left and then they left too.

Got onto some good fish in the last couple of days at the Trench.
On one day, a juvenile Bluenose and a couple of decent Puka.

The next day, a couple of Bluenose, a Puka and a lone Tarakihi which must have got lost. Water temp at the Trench is definitely on the up!
