Interesting stuff there Luke, Ive noticed a few of the reports on the west coast threads saying that quite a few of the stripes have been full of squid lately which makes me wonder....... if they are full of squid does that mean they are feeding deep during the day or more likely feeding at night. I might be wrong but squid mainly go deep during the day and are up on the surface during the night?

a Marlin we caught in the first Hohoura Marlin Classic off North Cape around 3pm was dancing the ocean,

after bring it on board it spewed 4 very large Squid 50/60cm long onto the deck, they were that fresh we used them for broadbill baits, infact you could have eaten them no problem.

Thanks for everything you did for us Eric. may you rest in peace, You were one of the real legends of NZ recreational fishing

We cut a fat stripie up on Saturday that came out of a bunch of them feeding on sauri.

It was full of huge jack macks and not a single sauri in its gut. ???

Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.
