was up KK from Thurs to Sun...pretty premo conditions. No rod fishing but did manage some fish and a good haul of crays. Still time to get out there before the freeze.

Yeah same here! Had Saturday & Sunday in KK. No rod fishing just diving. Got some crays and paua, and lost my only moki off the spear.

Hi Thomas,
Bit quiet around here mate I'm all geared up for duck opening. Might give the gurnard a nudge in few weeks though? The quake today might have bugged the weekends fishing?

Yeah the forum has been quite slow, but then I rarely check it nowadays, the quake has caused me to lose much of my confidence, so probably would skip the fishing.

Was hoping to go tramping but it looks too wet... So might just do a 20km paddle instead or something.

Hoping to do the 10km Portage kayak race on the 16th, which means I need to get even fitter. Don't want to finish last.

The warmer months are more productive, but these still fishing to be had over winter. These also good fishing to be had in May.

I been training for a race, so have not had much time for kayak fishing this year.

Just over a week now until the 'average' coldest day for Christchurch - El Nino with the reduced sea temps will keep the mercury bubble down for a bit longer than usual this season though.

I'm already hanging out for the new season, this time of year drives me stir crazy, I can't Hunt, Fish, or even work on the cars/bikes (Carport!)
