I was sorting some images out (in fact filing some skirt sample .jpegs I had taken for FishB8) when I came across this:

Part of an order I made up last year was for eight Enkis and the skirting was left up to me. I like orders like that. I like people who buy eight Enkis at a time (especially as part of an order Wink) and I like being able to make what I fancy.

Anyway at the end of a day which has served up all sorts of crap on several fronts I thought it was an uplifting (pretty even) picture.

My long-lost and lamented HotBite Gspot, not unlike an Enki, was very similar to 5 from the left, but made upside down.
some really nice creativity, there Obie.
I'd rather win them than buy them, though!

Thank you Obald. Very pretty indeed. Can you suggest something in the small/med size range, moderately active rather than extreme, with green over yellow skirting and a black lateral line? I am missing such a lure from my prefferred early season pattern.

I promise I did not post this picture as an advert - just enjoy the image.

But since you asked, Dave, a Merlin might be just the ticket. Not sure I can do a black lateral line but I'll have a ferret around the barn tomorrow. PM me as I really don't want this to turn into a sales pitch.

Think different lads

For the train spotters they are from left:

Skipjack
Rocket
Gay Bob
Forgotten - but septics like that sort of thing
Bermuda
Koheru
Punk Big Eye
Drysdale

And for an extra point this is the very first Drysdale wot was ever made. Made it up on the spot as a Mahi Mahi type colour (or color as it was off to the US of A) and hence its apellation.

obald, does having the top skirts trimmed so short compared to the bottom ones make them swim better?

Is there a science to doing this or is it trial and error?

Rubbish. Not a single ascension in there.

Bottom lure. (Kezz will be getting excited by the middle one)

Nobody has ever come up with a great idea after a second bottle of water.

Yes and those lengths have been arrived at after years of trial and error by Roddy.

Follow the program lads this is Enki porn and not Merlin porn - we'll do that tomorrow Wink

Now Enkis come in different sizes, materials and colours.

In resin/paua shell insert a few Grandaddy Enkis were made

There are three sizes of ProRange Enki

Oh, silly me, four

And there are still a few coloured 'glass' heads out in the wild

Oh, and wahoo also like Enkis - not sure if Enkis like wahoo. This rather, what shall we say, different skirting lasted three minutes off the coast of Western Australia.

No, sorry. Going to have to correct you there Boulder.

The lure was an a merlin in Aussie green over gold. It was part of the Legend pack that was sold when the lures were first sold in NZ

I have the Andromada in the same color and will show you the difference at Waihau

That color is very very close to what the marlin ate yesterday
