does anyone know what is available in the 12volt elec motor for a craypot hauler.people have suggested starter motors,but i have seen a small compact 12v motor but dont know anything about them.does anybody know anything...cheers..

My surtees has a craypot winch and it is just a standard anchor winch. Seems to do the job though you would not want to use it commercialy

HI ya, ive got a anchor winch on the launch,its got plenty of grunt,but think the speed might be a bit slow.is your one quick enough...tks for the reply..

If it has sufficient grunt (torque), you might be able to get away with putting an anchor winch through a small gearbox to up the speed (Thinking about the size of the drive box on my old Masport Commander orchard mower (no you can't have it LOL), not sure what the calcs are to work out how far you can go before smoking or stalling the motor though.
