Thats interesting regarding the Tarakihi. Piwi and I were out to 25m. Plenty of sign, wonder if there were some Tarakihi down there after all. Might have to take my macflashers and some stinky stuff for this next trip.

I got my limit of snapper today at Rogers road with the size ranging from 33 - 47cm. The bigger snapper preferred fresh kahawai fillet to the frozen bonito I had.

I'm toying with the idea of heading out early tomorrow before work... but it seems that local is no good. Is that the current mood? I probably won't do any travel. Did anyone get out today?

Well, there were fish Ray, just not of the right kind or at the right size... Plenty of sign on the sounder, so something was there...

If I get held up with the morning kid routine I'll go off paps, but that won't be to 10:30, any earlier and I'm down to spot p with the rest.

Where's the launch spot? The park on the right as you get to the beach?

Nice one Gooch.

Beaut conditions this morning till 10am when an easterly kicked in. I found it tough going but came in with 4 snapper to 46cm and a cod eventually.

Pretty much timed my launch today to hit that easterly piwi mentioned. So conditions were average at best but gave it a few hours. Had about 6 strikes in total for 2 snaps and a trev plus a throw back snap and ky aswell as a good jd spitting the softy about a Metre from the surface. Best went 13 lb 8 Oz at 68.5cm and other one 11 lb 8 Oz at 67cm so happy with those.
