Hi All, Been a while since last Report,  Iv'e have been pretty active out on water winding up yesterday with prize giving for Mokau Fishing Clubs four day Xmas Comp. Very good entries this year with thirty plus boats and 120 plus Fisho's.
Was up at a Sparrows Fart each morning headed down to the beach for launching! Bit of a hiccup on 2nd day took a bit of water on board and the scuppers just cleared it before we had enough speed to get over the next set of waves. Only just got over before they brokeShocked Day two saw me and my Mokau Aussie fishing mate Chris hit the big Snaps after four hours of patiently waitingThumbs Up First up Chris hooked into a 9 kg Snap, and then ten minutes later i nailed an 11.4 kg Barrell. Probably one of the biggest headed Snaps iv'e caught and the back end was small. The Snaps were on a measure basis and top five lengths took the prizes. Mine 81 cm and Chris 78. I was defending me title and managed to take it out again with Chris getting 2nd. We were RaptBig smile Another typical example of  the methods you can use in close verses a deep water big sinker drop to the bottom leger rig. Pic is of the 81cm Barrell. Cheers

Well done Geoff.

I prefer good old scuppers over a bilge pump in a small boat any day!

Thanks Sam, The day you saw us was the day we hit the good fish. Took along time for a lull in the big waves to launch at Rapanui. We only just made it over! Beer
