Having just bought and set up a ski, I found this forum, so figured it must be worth signing up.

I have a Kawasaki Ultra LX, set up with a FishSki kit, Dragonfly 5 sounder and the normal safety gear.

Being based in the mighty Tron means I am always looking for a trip somewhere for a fish, so if anyone is looking for a partner in crime for a trip out from somewhere close to (2 hours or so) from Hamilton, let me know, I will probably be keen.

Hey Mark welcome to the forum you'll get some good info in here.
If your keen to travel a bit it's worth having a crack in the gulf. The fishing has been brilliant the last couple of months and with the warn water I suspect it will continue for a while.
Cheers Pete

Thanks Pete, just got back yesterday from my first Kaipara trip, water was warm up there also, around 23deg.  Fish were light but as a trial run it was awesome.

I am keen to hit the gulf or the Firth, had a quick run out of Kaiaua a couple of weeks ago, great spot, pity the ramp only works a couple of hours either side of high tide (for a two wheel drive car).

I can see an Auckland trip on the horizon Geek

Maraiatai is a really option for launching into the Firth.
Flick me a PM when your thinking of coming up.
