Hi all, thought I would share my recent experiences with two reel Tech specialists, mates and good buggers.
Firstly my good mate Will Grant, I've known Will for a few years now and have learnt so much from him. Will has been very generous with his time helping me set up a functional work station in my mancave to work on my own gear. Will has also sat with me to tutor and oversee servicing my own reels.
Will has recently started his own business WG reel Services, check his FB page for his services and contact details.
More recently I have had the absolute pleasure of dealing with Clem Henry another reel guru and good bugger who has kindly tutored me on the magical world of magseal.
Clem has this week fully serviced two of my magseal spin reels, one of which I had the chance to sit in on and a couple of things occur to me.
1: It's always a good idea to get an expert to do things that take expertise. Make no mistake there is a degree of expertise required to fully service a magseal reel.
2: Regular cleaning/maintenance of reels is really important and at least once a year a full breakdown service by an expert Tech is money very well spent.
Clem also offers a pre use service, which I was a little unsure of until I handed him a brand new jigging reel a while back.
The reel was BNIB high end jigging reel which came back a couple of days after handing it over running way smoother with better free spool and drag stack more effectively greased and all external screws sealed to help prevent water ingress.
Clem is also on FB and has a great website " Hi-ika" check that out to, some really good info and products to be found there.
Both of these guys are passionate about fishing and Reel technology, check them out and get your reels serviced by expert good buggers 👍
Cheers Pete
Tight lines
