The challenge was to see how far we had to go to catch a feed - 1min from the ramp and a ltr or two of gas was the outcome Smile

Often head out from the ramp.. see a few birds sitting, or a ball of bait fish or a bit foul marked on previous trips,... have a few marks
stop , guys rig up their rods, drop a couple softies and or bait for a few minutes, can be suprised what sometimes cones in the boat. 
Even a couple just for a feed, that takes the pressure off for the rest of the day. Makes rest of the day  free to do a bit of prospecting , try new stuff.. check out a couple washes etc.
