I put this together as quite a few people have asked how to set the anchor system with the boat....

A king on the bricks is worth 5 in a boat.

Excellent video and dialogue
We often park in close to rocks.. drop anchor then put a grapple out the back and pull up on it.
Trouble is with this is if pull back over, and/ or the rope goes slack, the grapple usually drops its grip, as it is designed to do.

Dropping the grapple on bungy, then pull forward, then drop the anchor seems far more effective and logical.

Of to pick up 20m bungy before the next trip out
Thanks.

Just a couple of points to add.

It is my experience that you do not want to have the back anchor attached to bungy only as this allows far to much potential movement of the boat if there is a swell and you can end up with the boat on the rocks

Generally a 10m length of bunny attached to the anchor chain and then to a rope is enough to give you the ability to pull the inflatable back to the rocks through out the full range of the tide.

The other point that works well in challenging conditions/spots is not having an anchor on the front rope. It is easier to throw a rope already tied off at the front of the boat on to the rocks first then have the front person get onto the rocks and grab the rope and let the rope out as the boat person positions for the boat for the back anchor to be set.

Had thought of a bungy/rope combo but never tried it. Hadn't had any problems with just bungy but there's wisdom in a bungy/rope set up....

bungy/rope combo
Been thinking about that also.. would you have enough stretch to be able to drop the rear anchor far enough off?  and take care of  tide?
Im also thinking that the same rope/ bung  maybe could be used on the sea anchor when drifting (??)

Where is the cheapest place to buy it  10mm best seen near $8/ m

Good stuff!
I use a couple of metres of bungee on my drift anchor, it dampens the jarring from others wakes etc

One of the issues you will have with the anchor is getting it stuck on the bottom/rocks.

Having an actor that holds and will release is tricky.

The sliding shackle anchor or bending/flexible type have there advantages.

If you opt for a sliding shackle anchor you will need to consider a heavier bungy as you will need the ability to drive the boat over the anchor to dislodge it and not break the bungy - 10mm bungy is to light so consider heavier depending on your anchor and rope combination or be happy to free dive to get your anchor free

10mm bungy will pull the grapnel anchor out if the grapnel is the right size. I have bent the tines on my grapnel plenty of times to dislodge it, however if you have a bigger boat and bigger grapnel then yes the sliding shackle would be best.
