well I stopped in for a quick look in the BOP at a lovely little wharf and have been back nearly every day for the last 2 weeks never seen so many king fish in one place all day long with 90% being well over legal size along with trevalley and a good feed of snapper a bit of a battle with the sea lettuce but well worth it for a end result have not had a day yet where I have not hooked up and had some fun with the kingis and with only light tackle have managed a few that have played ball to put on my dinner table but very busy and crowded most days EARLY BIRD CATCHES THE WORM AND TOMORROWS ANOTHER DAY

As I said in my Tauranga thread report, after my brief visit down that way a few weeks back, that wharf is an amazing place. Like a FAD up in the islands - incredible amount of baitfish, no wonder the kingies are there.
It would be great, though, if people would limit themselves to one rod each, so that everyone gets a fair go. On one of my visits three anglers had about 12 rods between them, taking over just about every rod hole. That was one of two things that spoiled it a bit for me.
The second was that several under-sized kingies were killed by the ignorant way they were handled on the wharf prior to release. They went belly up moments after being shoved back into the tide. What a waste.
