Is it allowed to fish in orakei basin? On the walk its strictly forbidden but everywhere?

There are heaps of fish in there at times including a bunch I don't recognise and even a few stingrays at times.

As for fishing. Very much banned in the whole basin. The Waterski club have a rule that any members with fishing equipment down there are kicked out immediately.

You could try off the bridge by the round about I've seen quite a lot of people fishing off it over the years.
