Perfect conditions yesterday. Fished for snapper until around mid day, ended up with 18 for three of us, not particularly big (best around 4kg but the rest well short of this) and out a bit deeper than usual. Was so nice we decided to rark up a few tarakihi. Got about a dozen but a bonus was a couple of puka (yeehah!) and a real surprise a John Dory caught in 185 metres of water. Deepest I have ever caught one.

Good feed of pannies

Caught in 185 metres!!!

Pooka around 10kg

Topped the bin up with reef ooglies

Nice job Reiver. Was certainly nice conditions. We picked up 4 or 5 snapper in a bit closer to Whale with a 10 and a 16 lber in there. A few terakihi filled up the bin. Thinking that maybe we should have tried deeper looking at the puka!! :-)

Nothing wrong with a 16 pounder. What is your boat name, will look out for you

haha yeah there are no complaints about the size. Always a few good snapper around Whale at this time of year.

Boat is pretty easy to spot. White and red Rayglass centre console. Varekai is the name
