I've just bought a stella 14000 which I'm planning on using for topwater and jigging around Mayor island and the Aldermans.

What would you recommend I spool it with Pe6 or 8? And do any brands stand out over others when buying braid?

I'm also in the market for a topwater rod if anyone has any they want to move on.

Cheers Dean.

Plenty of good topwater braids, i prefer Tasline Elite and PE 6 is heaps for what you want to do. They dont do coloured braid though

Hey Dean I recently went to another brand of braid and only used it once and went back to the Gosen braid.
It's marketed as a jigging braid but casts really well. PE 6 in my opinion.
I will PM you about a rod.
Cheers Pete

Thanks Kaveman,
I would probably be keen for a coloured braid for the jigging side.

Cheers for the advice!

Buying too much gear at the moment mate. I'll get the reels spooled this weekend. No doubt I'll end up with a few more lures.

Shimano Ocea found it a bit too stiff when jigging I'm sure it's good gear but I prefer Gosen personally

yes....Tasline elite is good ****....here in perth I can get it custom spooled....
For jigging braid either
Favorite= YGK Jigman X 8(rainbow) .........I have used it everywhere ..its not too expensive....8 carrier braid and very reliable...60 or 80 pound....OR
Diawa Boat Braid(rainbow)8 carrier too for smoothness....I have PE6(higher than 60 pound breaking strain) on my oj4000P and thats good **** as well......Have never tried gosen but i know pete loves it...especially to floss his teeth or make it easy for cudaLOL
Both can be used for casting.
Once the idiots turn up..Im outta here...No time for Drama Queens.
