Here's a couple of decent snapper. I recently dived a nice bit coast and found these fish resting up in some fairly shallow guts. They looked like they were enjoying a bit of the Spring sun on their backs.
So was I.
In the gut of one of the snapper I found this small octopus. What was so surprising was the amount of weed that was wrapped around the octy.
Maybe this big snapper did not mind his meal wrapped up in sea weed. I like the odd bit of sushi myself now and again.
I have drawn a few images below to show how things may have panned out....
The little octy must have dozed off. The big snapper must have spotted him hanging in the bubble weed. Not good.
The big snapper was pretty happy to come across such an easy quick meal.
The poor little octy must have nearly had kittens when it opened it's eyes and saw that huge snapper right there.
The only thing it could do is quickly wrap itself in the weed.
The big snapper got pretty mad and worked it'self into right old state watching that octy disappearing into the kelp....?
No chance. That big snapper would have just chomped the lot.
