First post in this forum.  If it works, it'll definitely go on my CV, if I ever get one.  But that's irrelevant...

YES!  Hoping it fires.  Our crew really would like a nice, cruisey trip this year, no nasty surprises, full of large-ish and fairly stupid stripeys, blues, and hopefully a couple of nice YFTs.

And maybe a sword.

Good luck to everyone!

RiceOwl check the Trophy Lures Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/TrophyLuresNZ ) for what is happening down there, Derek usually puts up Photos of any fish caught and all that I can tell that has been caught down there so far this season is 1 Big Eye and a YFT in early January and that is it.

Has anyone spent any time towing lures up there lately? Or has the weather and sea temp put people off?

Spent the last 4 days there at white pointer comp, water has been cold, but looking alot better as of yesterday. 21 deg at about 200m.
Pretty quiet for us, with only one dropped spearfish strike.
Bit of action yesterday with a few stripeys hooked, and tagged/ lost, and a 200kg blue brought in, and a 30 kg yfin.
Few spearfish landed too.

We always stop at the iceman in whakatane and fill our trailer with 8 of 9 white sacks at $12 bucks each. cheap. The iceman does deliver to TeKaha & Waihau pub wholesale

Well done on those Spearfish Mike, it looked really fishy on the backbone on Friday and Saturday, heaps of bait, expecting it to go off in the next week or so with that much bait about.
