that be right catchlot. just listening to the radio was amazing in itself with all the hook ups.One of the old guys from the club keeps a daily tally and at times he had trouble keeping up.got to know a few of the counties guys during the season who made the trip down to get amongst the action.you know it's   going off when you got boats pulling out of waiau bay during the nationals and making the trip down.

the weather pattern that WAS predicted for last season was nothing like what eventuated ...  I even have one of the club delegates quoted pre last season saying they were going to expect a very short and bad year for marlin
I just read an article about the dangers of drinking too much; it scared the sh*t out of me, so today I decided I'm never f*cking reading again!

true
I would be extremely surprised if they do.
I think last season was an exception to the rule like they had in 1995

I wonder how the stripey season in OZ went before it kicked off on the west coast here. Peter Pakula used to make some pretty good predictions of the NZ season based on what he observed in Aussie if I read the posts right.......

That was indeed a unusually good run of fish.
Great if it happened again .
Great thing about lil ole n.z is u can so easily hitch the trailer on and go to where the hot bite is . can be chaseing ju jus on the east coast one day and into stripeys on the west the next.
