Fladen???

was in the local shop today and saw a Fladen surf combo apparently made in Sweden according to the guy in the shop so assuming that's correct I'm guessing it will be pretty good quality stuff but I've never seen or herd about them

looking cheap but good (enough) surf combo for my bro

was $200

any info? cheers in advance

Most Swedish products as with almost every country are made in China anyway albeit sometimes supposedly under certain quality controlled conditions.
 
Over the years I have brought a lot of fishing related products labelled under the brand name of probably the most well known Swedish manufacturer & pretty well without exception have ultimately been disappointed, hence now avoid buying any of their product.
 
As for the item you are considering you are probably better off deciding on the basis of your own assessment rather than assuming it will be a quality product solely on the perceived reputation of any country to produce quality products.
 
Nevertheless $200 admittedly does seem a pretty good price providing it comes with a reasonable warranty.
 
Like yourself I had never heard of Fladen but you might find info on them here :-

Lots of  swedish "made" product now days has a "designed in Sweden" Label, which is the truth sayer... At the price of them I cant see them having come from anywhere other than China, Indo or the likes. 

 I may be wrong though.

considering shimano has a rod and reel combo at the same price point which is what most regard as one of the best as far as brands go all though one of the cheep models id still prefer it

At least you could be reasonably assured of no hassle backup warranty service whereas the other might well be an unknown in that respect.
