I am after a bent butt rod to run 80lb braid with the intention to target swordfish. Don't want to spend a fortune. Currently I run a Shimano status on my electric reel with 80lb braid for hapuka and bluenose. Not sure if this would be ok. Even so, I would need another one.

The 80lb Status bent butt will do the job sweet - I know a couple of people who have been using them for swords

Go see Steve for a sword rod or look at killwel and CD rods.
