Not rude at all. We should all help our fellow fishers out. Lat and long was 34 57
174 21. That is 5 miles east of nine pin trench at 300m. Took a zucker tuna lure orange and yellow in short. Good luck. There seem to be plenty out there at the moment.

Thanks. Caught another yellowfin today too. Tagged it as we still have plenty to eat from yesterday's fish. I guess towing the dinghy is a bit of a fish attractor.

A couple of Great days on the water for us. Got the stripe pin fish for the BOI Club on Sunday as Matt has reported. Went 105.5kg caught in 260 Brett side of the trench.
Out today on a mates Bertram Pacific Tiger and landed 2 of 3 YFT that pack attacked the lures.
One at 25kg and other at 15kg. They ar in 260ish just on the Brett side of the inner trench. Watched the spotter plane do a loop around them miles ahead and plotted a course for the area. Not all bad news having them in the air, you just have to learn use all the available clues at your deposal to find the fish. Purse seiners are not targeting. YFT guys so don't panic. There were 2 of them parked up all day waiting for the skippies to pop up.
Get out there before this easterly stuffs it all up.

Ended up in this neck of the woods today after the water north of the PKs was crap and Gladiator Girl kindly gave us the good word. Worked several areas and got hit later in the day on the brett side of the trench in 260, pretty much directly north of Rawhiti. Shock horror - Zucchini Zucker...  Didn't stick unfortunately as it fell off after about 30s. Not marks on the lure or leader so not too sure what it was and wa peeling 8kgs of drag at will. Worked the area for around 40m but nothing more appeared.

Hi guys . Looking at heading up the bay for a fish. Just wandering wether someone could shed some light on options to launch the boat?(where coming from down south) Is it much of a haul from the boat ramps up there to say the 100/200 line? Any help hugely appreciated. Cheers!

Most use Waitangi ramp. Just depends on where you're staying. It's a big place with several ramps. The 9 pin (LHS tip of Bay) is about 8 miles from Waitangi. Fish are caught inside the line between Brett and the 9 pin but most troll a little wider than that. Good luck

It's a massive area and you can burn some go go juice getting around. the run out of the bay itself is about 30-40 minutes at a decent speed to lures out. Out to queens Buoy area is roughly 20nm so depending on sea state an hour run out. You can certainly drop lures earlier than that though and especially a little later in the season fish get picked up as close in as bird. It's a fare haul up to the Kav's, trench and the likes or down to Whangamumu or the V area but the life in the area is phenomenal. A very cool place to fish, and regardless of how many times I fish the area I still get excited about it :)

We launched yesterday at Waitangi. If it s a big boat, be prepared to winch it up onto the trailer or get the wagon wet...

I recently launched at Rawhiti, it has a concrete ramp, nice incline and friendly local parking attendants. This spot positions just at the entrance between Urupukpuka island and the peninsula so saves quite some mileage by boat anyway.
Certainly an option to look at.
Just cruising in my now sweetas pimped out Southern 755 HT0!

Cheers for that Intel Mattoo. That sounds primo. Is it safe to leave wagon and trailer there over night if staying out in the boat? And is it all good any stage of the tide?
