Crazy weekend off tge barrier, Saturday we saw 11 Marlin, had 5 in the lures for 3 hookups, dropped 2 and my wife tagged her first Marlin, best temp a tropical 25.9 on the 155 and electric blue water, Sunday a half day as it roughed up, 3 Marlin in the gear, a double hook up only to drop both then resetting gear a Marlin pulled lure from my hand as I was putting the band into clip, dropped him too.

yep...pretty stunningly good fishing out there at the moment. Warkworth One Base went off with more marlin tagged than I can remember and 132 kg the best weighed. We raised 6 fish for our 1 tag.

WWGFC One Base had 30 boats and 31 fish caught over 3 days. The top 3 boats were Violator - 4 tagged and one weighed, Bloodshot 3 tagged and a short bill weighed and 3rd to Lady Jade with 3 tagged. Numerous boats tagged two and pretty much everyone saw fish.

week late in report nut bn busy .Fitzroy one base was primo weather and a few blues caught , stripeys tagged and yellafins landed . mahis galore and even shortbills around including pending world record to chad and mike  .
day one of comp we set the bar with a blue to shanano at 183 kg he was virgin no 1 so great to see him pop his cherry on a blue
day 2 was quiet for us but we had the lead and bar was set reasonably high but not quite high enuf as on day 3 a boat called euro took top spot off us with a blue of 197 kg . well done to them . we weren't goin down without a fight so rather than stayin in close and lookin for stripeys we went wide again and hooked up on another blue . this was kevin lockes (warrior) first fish also and he did a fine job on the rod
we new it wasn't quite as big as first but thought it might have got us third but kyle (off the hook ) got 3rd with one slightly bigger well done to them on blooding the boat and also popping a cherry .they also landed a triple of yellow fin

the 2 blues points was enuf to get team femme fatale 2nd in the blue black section of the nationals and 2nd in one base to go with our 2nd in grumpys a few week ago ..cheers to Karp we  certainlly getting the hang of this now !

I saw on the latest fishtrack SST that there is a patch of hot water between the Needles and the 155. It says it's 24°   ... might be worth a look if anybody is down that way.

Thanks Josh for saying that because that was my first impression when I saw that photo as well. The only thing I would say is I would love to see another photo of that fish from a different angle as it appears to be facing on an angle to the sun and that may give it the appearance of a stripey, but first impressions is that it is a stripey. Are there any photos showing the area between the bottom jaw and the pectoral fins ie that frill thing below the gill plates.
