Just looked at the SST on fishtrack... there is a big blob of warm water on the kumera patch area... 17.5° to 17.8°....
It even pops up to 18° in one spot 😉

Not long to go now....

Mate took me out to the 400m hole today. Saw a sunfish at north reef and some dolphins in a nice patch/finger of water in 250m behind the nights that was 1.4C higher than it was in the Parry channel (temp showed as 18.2 in Parry but his gauge isn't calibrated). No workups seen or schools of bait but damn it felt good. Didn't run any lures and the water was a clear blue colour out there.
