Good thread..... I also really like getting rigger lures into clear water. Bruce Smith does this by constantly "swerving" to drop lures into clean/undisturbed water. I have just downsized from 8m boat with 6m outriggers to a 6m boat with 4.8m outriggers. Based on the above, should I look at extending the 4.8m outriggers?

Will be watching this thread for tips and advice.
Fitted some outriggers last year but need to rig them out properly.
Any suggestions where one can see some fitted or get advice.
One item I've been trying to find are a simple lock like these -

Cheers

Skip.
As i have learned and experienced the idea is to position your lures in as clean a water in the face or window of the trough of your wake that the particular lure is being set in relative to your pattern and the style of movement of your lure.
Each boat produces different wakes and your positioning should be relevant. Having the time to modify your set up with on the water practice is a key prep time prior to the season.
It could be your first minute on the first day you get your hook up. Ya neva no.
Pakulas web site has some great info for this.

Refer to as above for Skip.
And or encourage another, say from here or an experienced buddy to help you sort your set up.

If you after riggers get CTS I have them on my centre console on the top of the Bimini, all the way forward, they have really good height an angled back about 15 degrees, I run one halyard they are out in clear water, two from 4 in one day from them, crip release from blacks clips, I'll try and put a couple of pics, there is a vid from that day.

Ok my fridge is located on the N Shore if any member feels thirsty and can offer advice.
Or I could take the cooler bag for a drive.
Got a 5.8 Surtees with telescopic poles.
Once I get though the next month or so would possible have space for another to help get all set on the water.
