Shot out for fish yesterday after weekends flooding, logs and goodness what was floated around out there, on boat reorted seeing a whole packet of still strapped up fence battens. Plenty of fish sign but they were'nt on the bite but still we ended up scratching up a feed tally for the day was something like 20 Tera's, 1 small puka and about 18 snapper up to 2.5kg. Lost a nice Trev around the 5-6kg mark on a green bluefox jig while we wre trying to net it then lost it to a couta.
Uncle tried out your flashers again, since I find your traces a bit too short for my liking I cut the hooks off and put them on the set up I use. Put a red and a green on didnt matter what colour both caught fish. Taking a while to get me convinced about using flasher rigs but as the days was slow I tried something different and since the others on board were catching I cant say if they made a difference at all but we will keep trying.
Hopefully by next weekend the water round here will be back to normal as a serious snapper fish is planned.
