For a while a very good m8 has been looking at a oxy acetylene gas axe or a petrol oxygen set... so after a lot of discussion and reading, we went off this morning to see a demo
Hooked up the special petrol tank.. its not pressurised unless one is cutting or welding in the rafters and need the pressure to move the petrol up that high to the torch... and the oxy tank.. took a short period, less than a minute to get the petrol thru to the cutting torch, and light up.
Adjust the flame similar to a acetylene, but smaller and finer....
In thinking .. with a acetylene in the back of my mind... now way will this cut thru a 12mm thick 'H'
Well it was jaw dropping, less pre heat.. the slice far cleaner and finer, NO slag build up holding each 1/2 together, chopped thru in 1/2 the time of acetylene
M8 who is an engineer, brought the unit the and then... torch gas hose and special petrol tank.. $500 all thats needed is a oxy bottle , gauge and hose.
