Hi Everyone

Exciting news – 1st Marlin of the Season has been tagged and released today at 1.20 pm – well I presume there have been no others as Clubs do have 24 hours to report ... but definitely the first I have heard of

Angler was Kyle Ridling from the Whangarei Deep Sea Anglers Club, Estimated 100 kg, at the Kumara Patch

Kyle also tagged & released the first marlin last season on the 6th December 2014

Cheers

trolling one knot faster, one degree off course, is where we should have been yesterday? or !

crazy isnt it? marlin this time of year,
you wouldn't go out there normally to chase marlin unless you had good reason to, not just to be the first of the season, but have a definite sighting/reports/ or just have one follow up or come in on a bottom fish and have a plain because you have seen it before.
i think its a bloody fantastic result to have caught/tagged a fish this time of year,
Congrates to all involved...Thumbs Up

Thanks for everything you did for us Eric. may you rest in peace, You were one of the real legends of NZ recreational fishing
