Hey mate, I'm picking overhead would be the way to go in that depth. I'm running an Okuma Komodo 364 which goes bloody good, ridiculous amounts of stopping power, and I'm assuming they will be available in Oz.

In terms of the rod, it's a little harder to know what to recommend as from what I understand the range over there is very different to what is available here.

I run a Composite Developments slow jig rod which is wicked, fishes everything from 1oz heads through to 200g slow jigs really well but I'm assuming they won't be available over the ditch. The Nanomatrix series by Okuma is really good too and is more likely to be available over there. Outside of that I can't really comment from experience but I'm sure some of the overhead barra rods would be suitable too
