Hi All been 4-5 weeks since Iv'e had the little Mac out. Thats due to sea conditions and weather not playing ball. I was all fired up had arranged day off but first thing thismorn was way to big so i waited till near full tide around lunchtime for a lull. Last week on same day i had John- aka Macskipper on Forrum come over for a visit and a hopefull fish. We were all set in the water getting smashed by the whitewater waiting for a lull in waves but i pulled the pin as it never came and got bigger.  So on to today, the nervous wee before zipping up wetsuit! into the whitewater with boat and the wait is on when to gun it! wasn't as big as last week but smoother. A set of waves finished, went good in i jumped in and hammered it! Got out great and cleared the next set coming in. Headed straight out to where iv'e had constantly good fishing lately. I can usually pick roughly when good snaps come after the turn from hightide. 2.30 ish was the start today. Sabiki rig caught eight kahawai and some mackerall leading up to then and smaller snaps well legal let them all go. Also John left me some nice mullet from week before. So heaps of bait!! Although straylining is a game of patients sometimes when good snaps start attacking your big baits its well worth it. The first snaps today were 4 kg models, then a couple of 5 ks. Was after a goodie for the new year of the Measuring comp so put the Mullets on whole with the gut cut open. And shortly followed best snap of day-8 kgs. Caught another similar size but let him go as had plenty by then. Shortly after headed in feeling like I'd had me fix! cleaned up gave some fish away and had a few cold ones! Photo of biggest for day and another.

Congratulations Geoff!  Should be me in that picture somewhere, glad to hear the bait was put to good use.  If you think my bait is good wait till you get me out fishing then we will really see some action.  I'm bound to do something memorable if I stay up the night before playing pool and drinking beer with you.
Good fishing trip nothing breaks, great trip catch fish.
