Ive been itching to give inchikus a crack but only semi suitable gear I have is shimano 6'6 and 4000 reels with 15lb braid spin gear for soft baits.

Can you fish inchikus with spin reels?

Also whats a good inchiku for 15lb braid in 25-30m water for a noob?

Yes, that gear will be fine.  I use 10lb braid and fish 60g in 30 to 50m from an anchored boat and it works well. I was fishing 40g in 40m last week with a slowish drift with no problems. I'd use 40 to 80g for what you're doing but don't get too hung up on the weight, if all you have is 120g then use those!.

Going off my limited experience and Fridays results.......Yes is my answer.

Had no problem dropping down inchikus with a softbait rod and spin reel and catch fish.
Probably is better/easier to work the inchiku with the proper gear, but I just make do with what I have and it seems to work fine.

Ok cool, rather try it out before committing to money I need for a new live bait setup.

Whats the difference between a slow jig and an inchiku?

Should I go with only ocean angler or is there another brand that works and is cheaper so I can get a couple?

Im sure you could use a handline if needed :-)

Not sure what paramedic action is in my 6'6 rods but i dont take them too seriously, just cheapies. Should do the job.

Back to which lures, what are considered the best value for money inchikus ?

A parabolic action is where a rod bends through a more or less even arc, as opposed to a rod where the tip section bends more than the rest of the rod.  A paramedic rod, well I guess that stops heart attacks and things Big smile

Inchikus are one type of slow jig, there are butterfly jigs, madai jigs etc that all fall under that umbrella. A good salesman would sell you a different rod for every type but you will get by with any soft bait rod, some will be better than others of course.

I use Jitterbugs at the moment because they are reasonably cheap and work well but I've used cheaper ones and they work well too. The cheapies tend to have much heavier hooks that don't set as well but on the other hand fine wire hooks that the more expensive brands have need careful application of the drag setting! In other words take it easy or you will straighten the hooks.

I haven't tried Kaveman's jigs but the feedback here implies they are very effective.
