Hey Kevin, yeah GK is going to a good mate, Johan "Otter". Be hard to see her go, but will still fish on her plenty and is good she is going to someone who will use her for what she was built for!

No not doing Samoa this year, pretty gutted really as this is the week I normally head off for 3 weeks full on gamefishing! Back next year on the new rig for sure. She'll be run in by then and hopefully have a few marlin to her name!

Nearly a month gone and she's taking shape. really liking the front nose fabrication, a bit different from most current WP's.
6cyl diesel, 600l fuel, 80l water and big slurry tanks
Enclosed cabin designed for long days gamefishing in comfort. Extended roof will give a heap of shelter in all weather and hold 14 rods
front nose fabrication
Big booty... live bait tank, batteries, and a large marlin door that will open to the water line to go in the transom
High gunnals and a self draining deck with scuppers both sides
Rolling on an alloy 4.5T rated trailer that will have teflon skids, these things are awesome trailers
still plenty of work to do here

Intrigued with the door opening to the waterline. How is that going to work without flooding the boat? Is there a 'sill' of some type further in to prevent flooding, or some cleverer plan?

2.75m beam so no restrictions towing
They haven't weighed a completed 870 as yet so final weight a bit unknown, hopefully come under 3.2T dry. Will weigh her on completion and make a final call on tow vehicle, but hoping the Land Cruiser will be sweet for a few years atleast, until those GMC trucks come down a bit!

Door is close to water line, not on it or below... bottom sits just above the scuppers.
