After a somewhat prolonged search I have found my new boat, and the build is underway.
The search for my perfect boat ended almost simultaneously with an enquiry to Hall Marine Design coinciding with my stumbling across Supreme Boats, tucked away in Ongare Point, near Tauranga.
Hall Marine Design needs no introduction, with some of the countries best recreational and commercial designs to their name.
I had my eye on their 5m centre console, and after some invaluable information about the boat from Rob Optimist (top bloke) it was at the top of my list.
At the same time I met Gerald Henderson of Supreme Boats, and after visiting his workshop and viewing some of the boats he had underway and completed, left blown away with his build quality and innovative ideas.
Gerald arranged a meeting with Jarrod Hall of HMD. Nothing was a problem, everything was shown and explained using 3D modelling, and the final design included a front seat/casting platform, bait tank and sealed gunnels.
Jarrod emailed me the final design and asked what I thought.
Looks good to me! The alloy sheets were CNC cut by Alloy Cats and sent to Supreme Boats.
Gerald made a start a couple of days ago, I will update with some build photos on the weekend.
