Cheers got hold of Frank, he sorted me out, good bugger. Yeah just behind Kari Kari , after only having the lures in for 5 minutes. Looked really fishy there, heaps of Gannet work ups while I was playing the fish. Might try again tomorrow, on a honeymoon so might try drag the Mrs out. Fish only went 70kg but handy size for solo fishing.

Congrats. We did 11hrs trolling today. From hohora to south of matai. There were a few little gannet work ups. Saw a free jumper first thing couple dolphins whales. Nice temp breaks but we didn't catch a thing. No skippies or albies. Water pretty green but temp ok

Yeah just a 4.85. We had a couple of fish on last Wednesday off the Manuka but neither stuck. Switched over to double hook light dojos and seemed to work on this one, pretty well hooked but one was straightened a fair bit.

Saw quite a few skippes in close in 30m while catching a few kingis this morning.

Congrats Hunter, nice fat little fish.
From your photo that looks like similar area to where I caught 2 stripies and a yellowfin during nationals last week, in 135-145 mtrs, with Puheke behind middle islands off Cape Karikari, you got the spot now just keep working that line east and west, they will come on the bite for sure, great way to spend your honey moon, good luck swordfishsteveClap

Nicely done Hunter, congrats.
We were based out of Rangiputa also, nothing much doing for us with a fair few miles covered. Trolled up to N Cape in the sw'er on sunday arvo, decided the canyons were going to be a bit more manageable than GP overnight so plugged away there for nada. Trolled across in the morning and good to have another orca free bluenose session. One suspected bite from target day dropping after that and the one dirty Mako from a similar area as your fish trolling back in Monday arvo. Mates gave it a nudge yesterday and landed one of a double off the 505.
