We have been lucky with the weather over the last few days with the cyclone passing well out to sea. We didn't even get so much as a gust of wind. The cyclone did however affect the east coast, but with minimum damage thankfully. We are thinking of those who have been affected by the storm and they will be grateful for the sunny spell to help dry up any damage. The weather for the next few days is settled and looking fantastic for the weekend.
The rivers are all in good condition; the smaller streams are a bit low, but the fish are still moving and holding in the lower reaches. Those rivers with volume are obviously harbouring a few more fish. There are good numbers of rainbow trout holding off the well defined rips at the river mouths and the brownies are moving in and out of the mouths.
Lake fishing is still amazing with quality fish in good numbers. The conditions have been perfect and the weather is forecasted to stay this way for the next week or so.
Take care on the water and feel free to call for a report or accommodation.
Cheers,
Pete and Stella
