Plenty of tackle and advice at Hutchwilo NZ Boat Show

Those keen to upgrade their fishing gear and learn new skills from some of the country’s most experienced fishing professionals will again be in for a huge treat at the 2017 Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show.

The show, at the ASB Showgrounds in Greenlane, Auckland, on May 18-21, will be a celebration of all things fishing, with an entire pavilion – The Rock Fishing Hall – dedicated to your favourite recreational activity.

Bringing together major fishing retailers, along with small, innovative fishing businesses and everything in between, The Rock Fishing Hall is a giant 2000sqm-plus fishing superstore featuring over $2m worth of often exceptionally well-priced fishing gear.

It is also home to the popular Top Catch Ask the Experts free fishing seminars. Run throughout the show, these popular free seminars feature New Zealand’s leading fishing maestros, happily sharing their latest tips and techniques and showing us ‘weekend warriors’ how to catch more fish, more regularly.

This year’s free Top Catch Ask the Experts fishing seminars will include:

  • Paul Senior – Snapper with saltwater jigs
  • Craig Robinson – Latest soft-bait techniques
  • Graeme ‘Bonze’ Fleet – Latest marlin techniques with light-gauge rods and light drags
  • Scott Parry and Mig Rumney – Catching kingfish with stick-baits, poppers and jigs.

Also, Extreme Boats will be hosting free fishing talks on their stand in Hall Two, with Journey of the Fisherman’s Tony Orton talking about live baiting for marlin and kingfish and how to use circle hooks, while ADOS Addicted to Fishing’s Nicky Sinden will be giving lurerigging demonstrations.
