The Penn Slammer III reel series is back. Built for heavyduty fishing from either boat or shore, the Slammer III reels feature a new IPX6 sealed system (which keeps water out of the gear-box and drag system), along with the updated Slammer Drag System (which utilises Penn’s proprietary Dura-Drag with washers that eliminate hesitation even under extreme drag settings – up to 30kg in the larger models). These reels also feature: a full metal body, side plate and rotor; CNC Gear technology; and ‘six plus one’ stainless-steel bearing system. Available in eight sizes from 3500 to 10500, the gear ratios range from 6.2:1 with 92.5cm of line retrieved on the smaller reels, to 4.2:1 with 107.5cm of line retrieved on the largest. Maximum drag outputs start at 15kg in the smaller models and reach 30kg on the largest. Distributed by Pure Fishing NZ, Albany, and available through tackle stores nationwide.
