There will be plenty to keep anglers occupied at this year’s Auckland On the Water Boat Show.
Held at the Viaduct Harbour September 24-27, there will be more than 20 Kiwi trailer-boat manufacturers and retailers; as well as 70 big boats, kayaks and jet-skis on display.
A highlight of this year’s show will be the inclusion of an extensive range of fishing tackle.
The unique mix of boats – from dinghies and inflatables, alloy and composite trailer boats, through to New Zealand-made and imported launches and yachts – alongside a huge array of the latest inboard and outboard engines, marine electronics, fishing gear and safety equipment, is what sets New Zealand’s largest on-water boat show apart from all others.
Michelle Khan, CEO of the Auckland On Water Boat Show, says they have had tremendous support from our exhibitors.
“The show will be jam-packed with marine-oriented products and services,” Michelle says.
A kayak and jet-ski fishing zone has been created on level three of the Viaduct Events Centre, and a number of participants have been confirmed for a dedicated fishing area in Pavilion Three.
“Being able to go aboard the larger craft, such as the recently-imported game-fishing boat Charlie, moored on the specially-built marina, is a key feature of the show.”
“And of course the latest trailer-boat models designed and proven on New Zealand’s oceans, lakes and rivers are always popular.”
Among the trailerable vessels will be five new models from award-winning alloy fishing boat manufacturer Surtees Boats on the Fishing Boats NZ site. According to Surtees’ Marketing Manager Adam Dyck, the key change with the new models is an increase in fishing space.
“We listened to our customers who are asking for more deck space in their favourite models.”
Haines Hunter will show their latest model, the Sports Fisher 545 Limited Edition.
Designed with bigger boat features incorporated in a smaller rig still capable of towed on a single-axle trailer by the average 2-litre family saloon, the 5.95m SF545 is described as a super-easy boat to use.
Bob Mirabito from Sea Craft Miller Moyes, manufacturers of the renowned Haines Hunter range, says the September timing of the Auckland On Water Boat Show is ideal for anyone thinking about buying or trading a trailer boat to come along and see all the options on show.
“With a huge cockpit space, ample cabin area, with room for a portable toilet, the SF545 is proving a popular choice for both new and seasoned boaties alike.”
Other popular brands include Southern and Lazercraft from Family Boats, Tristram Marine, and Stabicraft from Gulfland Marine, and many more.
A greater array of fishing gear is on show this year, with game-fishing riggers from Tenob, seats and retrofit live-bait tank holders from Hi-Tech Plastics, and dive and fishing gear from West Shell Fishing, as well as the stunningly hand-crafted Maven fishing rods.
ENL showcases their latest Furuno TZ Touch 2 with a built-in, dual-frequency fish-finder. Its proprietary RezBoost technology produces fish targets and images four to eight times sharper than a conventional fish-finder.
Show visitors can also see the latest technology from Raymarine and Nav Station from Lusty and Blundell, and BEP Mastervolt.
