Topic: Jig Kid-Kapiti out wide Posted: 08 Dec 2008 at 8:42am |
A plan was hatched by AHole and myself to get Jig Kid out on the briny. Ahole already had a passenger for Sunday, so It was arranged he step aboard the Mellenium Falcon-Pro Sport. We lauched at Paraparaumu beach in prestine conditions and blasted out to spot x some 20ks offshore. target species- XOS Tarakihi. Jig Kid had the first drop into 115m and boom-a nice fish to kick things off. It continued for 2 hours and we had our bin full of large Terras and ice! We departed for the island at 1700 for the Kingies, but they forgot to turn up. Isaac had a jig with my gear as he is getting his saltist 30t in 3 weeks. I was impressed by Isaac's maturity and fishing prowress-an absolute pleasure to have onboard. A superb day out in first class conditions.
here's the pics:
I won't mention that the reel came off in my hand whilst pulling up a fish! It was quickly put back on and the fish brought up...

Nice work there team, primo eaters too. Should have joined you but was land locked till 4pm. Yeah shame about the Ks, was always going to be a bit of a pig and a poke but the choice was sit in the man cave, think about it and drinking heavily or go and have a crack !!
The answer was obvious. Good to see you out there lads - well done and thanks Richy for being so obliging getting young Isaac out.

Reece, I took the reel clamp off a couple o days ago thinking it didn't need it... I guess there are Different grades of fuji reel seat??? I'll put it back on as the reel seat is showing signs of play. how long do Kingies root for? As for the launching/retrieving, it helps with new rollers and a bit of know how cher for that. Conclusion is Kapiti is a special place with some great people in it.
ps, i like yer Kojak t shirt bud.
