The marketing team at DB love your forum reports and have come up with a special way to say "Thanks"!

Every fortnight, right through to the end of 2013, the best fishing report will earn the writer a $50 a DB Export beer voucher and 2 DB Export fishing caps.

Hey Macca

Congrads on your win

I guess we learn something everyday.

If you post on your original thread after the start of it then anyone posting after is consigned to the lesser post.
And that's the truth as I did a little experiment - see your last post and you will see my thanks on that is at the end in your last addition -  and not the major one, however the feeling as I posted was real, mine was a novel - yours was a fishing tail and well deserved.

it turned out that I had a problem which was all mine - when I Posted I had no idea (after being away for a time fishing) that there was any contest so my post was actually in Smudges areas being mid Day on the 18th and not the new period!
I guess you live and learn
For those  members who voted thanks for my post - Please believe me when I say I am humbled and indebted to your response, what started as a simple fishing report took on a life of its own, I hope enough for many of you to go down and see for yourselves. Wonderful place that it is.

Macca, Good post mate - did enjoy it, as I said in your thread, hard to beat a Epic/tob'es report.

Enjoy

Just to clarify this in case you were confused by Moggy's post because I sure was..........

The fornightly DB prize is for a POST not a thread or topic sooooo please thank the report post as that will be the one that counts. That doesn't stop you also thanking other good posts in the thread obviously but the report post is the important one.

It's not a software issue at all Moggy.

As noted http://www.fishing.net.nz/asp_forums/topic90682_post1306399.html#1306399" rel="nofollow - here , the comp relates to a post NOT a thread or topic but a good reminder to thank the original post of a report which is what most of us seem to have done.

Grunta, just for clarification, because I am confused. If in the event we ever have a 9 installment novel of a report like moggys again, is it the first post and only the first post that the thanks are taken into account, and not any of the remaining thanks on the next installments? First post of a report, no matter if its 2 or 10, is the one to thank and thats that?

Only just seen this, but you've pretty much got it sorted Damian.

'Thanks' works on an individual post and the reporting function pulls the post with the most 'thanks' for a specified date range. Most reports are only one post so generally Moggy's situation isn't an issue.

It doesn't necessarily have to be the first post of a report though obviously in practically every instance of a report it will be.

Hopefully you're not still confused  - let me know if you are..........
